The Charitable & Educational Foundation of the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan (HBA) was established in 1991 to promote and improve the availability of affordable housing opportunities for low income families throughout Southeastern Michigan. It also created a viable opportunity for HBA members to give back to their communities by volunteering their professional talents and skills, and making cash and in-kind contributions to help meet the needs of those less fortunate.

The Foundation’s mission is to engage in activities that:

Promote and improve housing opportunities
Combat community deterioration
Inform and educate on issues relating to affordable housing

Since its inception, the Foundation has raised and distributed over $1.6 million to housing-related nonprofits including Lighthouse of Oakland County, Michigan Colleges Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Southwest Solutions and Project Build!
